SOUTH KOREA TO SOON PROPOSE NUCLEAR TALKS WITH NORTH


South Korea will soon propose holding meeting with the North that could pave the way for a resumption of six-party negotiations aimed at conclusion Pyongyang's nuclear ambitions in return for aid, an official said on Monday.


The meeting, which would be a foremost breakthrough after a two-year suspension of the disarmament-for-aid process, will be proposed separately commencing high-level military talks connecting the rival Koreas. Last week the North accepted the South's terms for talks to try to defuse one of the worst crises on the peninsula since the 1950-53 Korean War.
